Wild leek picking pa state park5/28/2023 In the winter, the hill by the driveway is great for sledding. Fall in the Allegheny Mountains is spectacular with miles of untouched, brilliantly colored hillsides stretching before you. Later in the summer, wild phlox, daisies, and other wildflowers take over. The gardens are filled with blooming flowers throughout the summer, and for a couple of glorious spring weeks, the hillside by the driveway is full of purple, pink, and white lupines. In early spring, pick wild strawberries or dig leeks. Or, if you come at the right time (generally August) enjoy the wild blackberries and huckleberries growing on the mountain. Stretch out on the decks, walk the mountain trails looking for deer, raccoons, porcupines, or even bear. Relax in front of one of the two fireplaces or outside by our fire pit. The 6,000 square foot Retreat is fully furnished, with six bedrooms, three and a half baths, three living rooms, and a sitting room. Miller's Mountain Retreat is located one mile from Scenic Route 6 in the Pennsylvania's Wilds and about fifteen minutes from Cherry Springs State Park, home of the darkest skies on the Eastern seaboard.
